A Jamaican man who had just arrived on the island from a trip overseas was shot down at a traffic light on his way home from the airport on Tuesday.
Reports are that about 3:20 pm, Campbell, who had just arrived on the island on a Panama flight, chartered a JUTA tours taxi from the Norman Manley International Airport in Kingston.
Upon reaching a traffic light at the intersection of Sir Florizel Glasspole Highway and Windward Road in St Andrew, a Toyota Probox stopped on the passenger side of the chartered taxi and an occupant alighted from it and immediately opened gunfire.
Campbell sustained multiple gunshot wounds to the upper regions of his body and the culprits then escaped.
The deceased has been identified as 48-year-old Rohan Campbell of a St James address.
The condition of the taxi man are unknown.
Investigators are trying to determine a motive for the killing.
