Dancehall artiste Vanessa Bling is giving back to the next generation of female talent with the opening of a high end recording and mixing studio, creating a space where aspiring young women can develop their sound without worrying about the usual cost of studio time.
The initiative is aimed particularly at young female artistes who are serious about pursuing music and need access to professional recording facilities. Under the initiative, qualifying young women will be able to record without paying the standard studio fees, giving them an opportunity to turn their musical ideas into professionally recorded material.
For Vanessa Bling, the project is about more than simply opening another recording facility. She wants to help remove some of the financial barriers that can prevent promising artistes from getting their start in the industry.
“I want to create opportunities for young women who are serious about their music. Sometimes all an artiste needs is somebody to believe in them and give them a chance,” the entertainer said.
HELPING MORE YOUNG FEMALE ARTISTE’S
The move continues Bling’s history of supporting female voices in dancehall. In 2024, she organized the all female Truly Gifted Riddim, which brought together several female artistes as part of an effort to encourage greater unity and visibility among women in the genre.
Her latest venture takes that support a step further by giving emerging artistes access to the same type of professional environment needed to record, mix and develop quality music.

For many young performers, studio costs can become one of the biggest obstacles when trying to build a career. By making recording time available for free, Bling is hoping to give talented women an opportunity to focus on their creativity and prove what they can do.
Vanessa Bling, who has maintained a presence in dancehall for years, appears to be using her experience in the industry to help create a pathway for the next generation. Her message is simple: talent deserves an opportunity.
