It’s reported that a man was fatally shot by police in White Hall, St. Thomas on Tuesday morning.
According to police reports, a team of them were on a special operation to carry out a search at the man house when he allegedly rushed towards the officers.
They said he tried to hold onto a policeman gun attempting to disarm him. during the tussle, he got shot four times.
The deceased man has been identified as 26-year-old construction worker, Franklyn Hyman.
The incident was captured by his neighbour and has gone viral, circulating on multiple social media platforms.
In the footage, multiple police officers were seen surrounding his house telling him to come outside. His neighbour plead for him to come outside. Shortly after he opened the door and several gunshots were heard and four officers were seen lifting his body and walking toward the police service vehicle.
According to residents and what was seen in the video, the man appears to be innocent and his family member are crying for justice.
“He’s a innocent good youth. Him tell mi seh police threaten to kill him and seet deh now. Mi affi get justice, a family member said.
