Two men were fatally shot by police during a reported confrontation on Manchester Road near Willowgate in Mandeville on Friday night, and a firearm was recovered at the scene.
Early reports indicate that around 8:00 p.m., lawmen were tracking a Toyota Axio along the roadway when they intercepted the vehicle. An alleged shootout followed, sending bystanders running for cover as gunfire erupted.
Officers attached to the Area Three Fugitive Apprehension Team were among the units responding to the incident, which remains under investigation.
