A member of the bar staff at the Scream Halloween Festival died on Saturday night after reportedly collapsing while working at Mas Camp in Kingston.
Organisers of the event confirmed the worker’s death in a statement issued on Sunday, revealing that he was rushed to hospital after collapsing but later succumbed.
Speculation has since circulated on social media that the man may have been electrocuted by faulty equipment. However, those claims have not been confirmed, and the exact circumstances surrounding his death remain unclear.

According to the organisers, paramedics were immediately dispatched after they were alerted to the incident and administered medical assistance before transporting the worker to hospital.
“Despite these efforts, we are deeply saddened to confirm that he later passed away,” the statement read.
The organisers said they have since met with the deceased’s family, his employer and security personnel as they work to provide support and address matters surrounding the incident.
They also stressed that the necessary safety checks and inspections had been carried out by the relevant authorities before the festival.
“We take matters of safety and well-being extremely seriously. We wish to emphasise that all necessary checks and inspections were conducted by the relevant authorities prior to the event to ensure that the environment was safe for all staff members to carry out their duties,” the statement said.
Meanwhile, the Jamaica Constabulary Force (JCF) has launched an investigation into the incident, with event organisers confirming that they are fully cooperating with the authorities.
The public has also been urged to avoid spreading speculation as investigators work to establish what led to the worker’s death.
“We understand that emotions are heightened and that there is considerable speculation surrounding the incident. However, we respectfully ask that the relevant authorities be afforded the time and space necessary to conduct their investigations and establish the circumstances surrounding the incident,” the statement added.
The organisers expressed condolences to the deceased’s family, friends and colleagues, describing the incident as a deeply saddening loss.
