Two people lost their lives in a motor vehicle accident on the Cooper’s Pen main road in Trelawny on Sunday night, according to an initial report from the police.
The crash occurred at approximately 9:50 p.m. near the Royalton Hideaway Resort and involved a white Mercedes-Benz motor car.
Both the driver and a passenger were pronounced dead. Their identities, including gender and ages, have not yet been released.
Early police findings indicate that the incident may have resulted from excessive speeding, loss of control of the vehicle, and possible driver error or negligence.
Investigators are continuing to probe the circumstances surrounding the fatal crash.
So far this year, three people have died in two separate road collisions.
