Two people who died in a motor vehicle crash along the Edward Seaga Highway on Saturday have been identified by the St Catherine police.
The deceased have been named as 33-year-old Ricardo Collins, a soldier from Binns Road, Kingston 11, and 23-year-old Shaddai Mason of Waterford, Portmore, St Catherine.
Reports indicate that around 7:45 a.m., Collins was driving a white 2017 Honda Civic along the highway when, on approaching a section of the roadway near the Linstead toll plaza, he allegedly lost control of the vehicle. The car subsequently crashed into a metal guard rail.
Both occupants sustained serious injuries and were transported to the Linstead Hospital, where they were later pronounced dead.
The incident is now being investigated by the Linstead Traffic Department.
