Three men believed to be gunmen were fatally shot during an alleged confrontation with the police in St Toolies, near the Manchester, Clarendon border, on Monday afternoon.
According to preliminary reports, law-enforcement officers were conducting an intelligence-driven operation at a house in the area in search of suspects when they were reportedly met with resistance.
During the ensuing confrontation, three men were shot and later pronounced dead.
The police say two firearms were recovered from the scene. The incident is said to have occurred at approximately 12:20 p.m.
