A police constable reportedly died by suicide at the Maroon Town Police Station in St James on Sunday morning.
The deceased has been identified as Constable M. Francis, also known as “Teddy.”
According to reports from colleagues, he was discovered inside the station barracks with a gunshot wound shortly before 9:00 a.m.
Senior Superintendent Eron Samuels, who heads the St James police division, confirmed the incident but indicated that further details were not immediately available.
It is understood that Constable Francis had been facing disciplinary proceedings prior to his death.
