A late night crash along the Seaforth main road in St Thomas on Tuesday has claimed the lives of two men, including a police constable, while leaving several others seriously injured.
The deceased have been identified as Police Constable Keron Kellyman and 31-year-old electrician Dwight Robinson. Reports indicate that Kellyman was driving a Toyota Isis when it collided with a Honda Accord.
It is understood that as the Honda Accord approached a section of the roadway near a housing scheme, the driver attempted to avoid a pothole but ended up swerving into the path of the oncoming Toyota Isis. The impact caused the Isis to overturn into a gully on the right side of the road.
Kellyman, who reportedly suffered severe facial injuries and Robinson, a passenger in the vehicle, were both pronounced dead.
Two other occupants of the Toyota Isis were seriously injured and remain hospitalized in stable condition. Meanwhile, the two individuals traveling in the Honda Accord also sustained serious injuries; however, their conditions are not believed to be life-threatening.
