A man was stabbed to death by another man during a dispute that erupted between them on a construction site in Rose Heights, St James, on Monday.
The deceased has been identified as 21-year-old Cedno Edmondson, also known as ‘Twelve’, a mason from First Avenue in Beirut, Rose Heights.
Reports indicate that around 3:30 pm, Edmondson and a 19-year-old mason were at the construction site when the accused picked up a bottle of rum, sparking an argument between them.
During the altercation, Edmondson allegedly used a shovel to strike the 19-year-old, causing injuries to his face and hands. In retaliation, the accused reportedly used a knife to stab Edmondson.
The accused then reported the incident at the Mount Salem police station, where he was taken to the hospital for treatment and subsequently arrested.
Following an investigation at the site, Edmondson was discovered with stab wounds and was rushed to the hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
