A man is reportedly nursing serious injuries in hospital after he was chopped and beaten by a group of men during a violent dispute over pardner draw money in Waterford, Portmore, on Monday evening.
According to reports, the incident unfolded after an argument reportedly erupted between the victim and several men over the distribution of money from a pardner draw. The disagreement is said to have quickly escalated into violence.
Residents claimed the man was attacked by multiple men, who allegedly used machetes and other objects to assault him before fleeing the area. The victim reportedly sustained several chop wounds along with other serious injuries from the beating.
Persons in the community rushed to his assistance and summoned emergency responders. He was transported to hospital, where he remains admitted. His condition is currently unknown.
Police have reportedly launched an investigation into the incident. No arrests has yet been made, and investigators were said to be pursuing several leads as they work to determine the circumstances surrounding the attack.
