It’s reported that a Jamaica Public Service (JPS) contractor was shot and killed by a license firearm holder during a dispute over alleged thieving light in Tavern, Papine, Kingston this morning.
The deceased man has been identified as 57-year-old Norris Farquharson. The two men are said to be neighbours.
The shooting incident was caught on CCTV.
The license firearm holder was seen in a cctv footage chasing and shouting at the JPS contractor to exit his yard. After the chase, the contractor was shot multiple times in the upper body where he was pronounced dead on the spot.
According to what was heard in the cctv footage, the contractor allegedly pulled out a knife.
The licensed firearm holder was taken into custody by the police.
