It’s reported that five (5) persons were fatally shot and several others injured moments ago in the Pleasant Heights community in Rockfort, east Kingston.
Our news team received reports that the mass shooting took place at a football match in the community.
Superintendent Tommilee Chambers, head of the Kingston Eastern police said the shooting happened sometime after 8 p.m. at a “friendly football match”.
The number of injured persons remains unclear.
Earlier, Assistant Commissioner Donovan Graham, head of police Area 4, the region under which Kingston falls, said several persons have been rushed to hospital.
Pleasant Heights, formerly known as Wareika Hills, has a violent past, particularly driven by deadly gang feuds.
