The police have launched a manhunt for a group of armed men who robbed and shot a female pump attendant during a brazen daylight attack at a gas station in St Andrew on Tuesday afternoon.
The incident occurred at approximately 1:36 p.m. at the Total service station on Deanery Road.
According to investigators, the assailants held up the pump attendant before opening fire, injuring her. They then fled the scene in a Toyota Probox. The wounded woman was rushed to hospital, where she remains receiving medical treatment.
Police believe the suspects are members of a criminal syndicate believed to be responsible for a string of robberies targeting service stations across the Corporate Area.
Investigations into the incident are continuing as detectives work to identify and apprehend those responsible.
