The New Years day turned deadly for 37-year-old Odaine Lewis, who was gunned down at his home in Coxheath Runaway Bay, St. Ann this morning, marking the parish’s first murder. A man was shot dead after disrupting a burial at the Dovecot Memorial Park in St Catherine on Monday. The man, believed to be of an unsound mind, has since been identified as 23-year-old Isaac Foster from Penny Piece District in Kitson Town, St Catherine. A video of the incident has gone viral on social media. Reports are that around 2:15 pm, the burial was in progress at the cemetery when Foster appeared and disrupted the proceedings. The Independent Commission of Investigations is probing the fatal shooting of a female sex worker by a police officer in St James this morning.  The shooting happened shortly before 7 at the Old Shoes Market, downtown Montego Bay.  It’s reported that the woman was chasing a man with a knife because he refused to pay for her services. A police man who was close by, saw and ordered her to desist from chasing the man.  She reportedly disobeyed and continued her pursuit, as a result of which the officer shot her.  She died at the scene.

A Jamaican man who had just arrived on the island from a trip overseas was shot down at a traffic light on his way home from the airport on Tuesday. Reports are that about 3:20 pm, Campbell, who had just arrived on the island on a Panama flight, chartered a JUTA tours taxi from the Norman Manley International Airport in Kingston. It’s reported that two school boys are were shot and killed along Airy Castle Road in Stony Hill, St. Andrew, last night. According to police reports, around 11:15 P.M., citizens heard loud explosions and called authorities. Upon arrival, the teens were found with what appeared to be gunshot wounds to their heads. They were transported to the hospital, where they were pronounced dead. Police have identified the victims as 16-year-old Nicquan Whitley of Meadowbrook High and 14-year-old Jumaane Henry of Oberlin High. Both students were residents of Airy Castle Road. The Major Investigations Division is probing the double murder.

It’s reported that about 10pm the TikToker was on his live playing match when the incident occurred. While sitting in his yard with a friend, he was pounced upon by gunmen and was shot several times in the head. A off duty Policeman was shot dead on Beechwood Avenue in St Andrew late Friday night. The deceased cop has been identified as Corporal Christopher Smith, who was assigned to the Kingston Western police division. It’s reported that about 11pm, Smith drove his motor vehicle to the Texaco gas station on Beechwood Avenue, where there was an active armed robbery. After Smith parked his vehicle, one of the gunmen pounced upon the unsuspecting cop, shot him multiple times and relieved him of his firearm. Smith was taken to a medical facility where was pronounced dead upon arrival.

Two students, a boy and a girl, of Lennon High School in Clarendon were this morning killed in a two-vehicle crash and others rushed to hospital. It’s reported that the taxi man was fleeing from Transport Authority. The collision occurred along the Bustamante Highway around 8:30 in the York Town area and involved a Toyota Probox taxi and a Subaru motor car. According to the police, preliminary information is that both vehicles were travelling in opposition direction and that the taxi allegedly failed to keep left, causing the collision.
