Tension is high in the Corletts Road community of Spanish Town, St Catherine, following the fatal shooting of a resident early this morning.
The deceased has been identified as 60-year-old Alphonso Samuels McDonald, otherwise known as “Boo,” who lived in the area.
According to reports, residents heard explosions at about 5:30 a.m. When they checked, they found McDonald suffering from injuries. Police were alerted and upon arrival, discovered him lying face down, dressed in a red T-shirt, camouflage pants, black socks, and black slippers, with what appeared to be gunshot wounds to the head.
He was rushed to the Spanish Town Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
Investigators from the Spanish Town Criminal Investigation Branch have launched a probe into the incident.
No motive has yet been determined.
