Two women and a one-year-old boy were killed in a horrifying late night attack at Kidd Lane around 11:30 p.m., leaving relatives and residents devastated.
The deceased have been identified as 30-year-old Lashane Ellis, her one-year-old son, and 39-year-old Kimiesha Gibson.
According to preliminary reports, the victims were attacked inside two separate houses located within the same yard. Ellis and her infant son were inside one of the houses, which was subsequently set ablaze, while Gibson was shot and killed inside the second house, which was not affected by the fire.
In a particularly heartbreaking account, Ellis’ mother recalled hearing her daughter crying out for help as flames engulfed the house. The grieving mother reportedly heard Ellis pleading with her to throw water on the burning building while she desperately clutched her young son.
Moments later, the desperate cries fell silent, marking a devastating turn in an already terrifying ordeal.
The circumstances surrounding the attack remain unclear, and investigators are working to establish what led to the killings and identify those responsible.
