A major multi-agency operation is underway at the Kingston Container Terminal following the discovery of a suspected cocaine smuggling network allegedly operating from the facility.
The operation is being led by the Firearms and Narcotics Investigation Division (FNID) and the Jamaica Customs Agency, with support from the Jamaica Constabulary Force’s Specialised Operations Branch.
The investigation follows the seizure of cocaine valued at approximately $1 billion earlier this week. Several employees at the terminal have since been arrested as authorities probe their alleged links to a drug trafficking syndicate.
Investigators have not disclosed the identities of those arrested or provided details on the exact circumstances surrounding the seizure.
Authorities say the investigation remains active, with further updates expected as the operation progresses.
