A six-month-old baby girl has tragically died after suffering burns in a house fire in Montpelier, St James, early Tuesday morning.
The infant has been identified as Nymerah Graham. Reports indicate that the fire broke out about 1:00 a.m. in a section of the community known as Guinep Tree. The dwelling, which was constructed of board with a zinc roof, was completely destroyed by the blaze.
It is understood that another child sustained injuries during the incident and was taken to the hospital for medical treatment.
The cause of the fire remains unknown at this time. Firefighters are currently at the scene carrying out investigations to determine how the blaze started.
