Two men have been taken into custody after police seized a quantity of cocaine at the FedEx facility in Half Way Tree, St. Andrew on Tuesday evening.
The discovery was made during an operation carried out by officers from the Firearm and Narcotics Investigation Division (FNID).
Authorities say they received a tip that individuals were attempting to smuggle cocaine through the courier service, prompting investigators to place the location under surveillance.
Police sources reported that early efforts to search the premises were met with resistance. Officers later returned with the necessary warrants and conducted a thorough search of the property, which resulted in the drug seizure.
The exact quantity and estimated street value of the cocaine have not yet been determined.
