Three men were shot and killed by police along Mandela Highway in St Catherine on Wednesday afternoon. The incident occurred shortly after midday.
According to preliminary reports, the men were travelling in a Honda Fit motor car when they were intercepted by law enforcement.
In the aftermath of the shooting, the westbound lane of Mandela Highway, near the entrance to the PJ Patterson Highway, has been closed to traffic. As a result, the eastbound lane has been converted to accommodate two-way traffic.
Motorists are urged to proceed with caution, follow the instructions of traffic authorities, and anticipate minor delays while travelling through the area.
