The horse racing community has been left in shock following the tragic passing of veteran jockey, Oneil Mullings, who died on Sunday evening.
Reports indicate that the 51-year-old was shot and killed in the Thompson View Avenue, Kingston 11 area of Waterhouse. The gunmen fired several shots, one of which struck Mullings in the head.
He was rushed to hospital by the police, where he was pronounced dead upon arrival.
The circumstances surrounding the incident remain unclear at this time.
Police have identified two brothers, who were reportedly involved in a dispute with Mullings earlier in the day, as suspects in the case.
Mullings, who launched his riding career in 2002, was well respected among peers and fans for his contributions to local racing over the years.
