The five-year-old son of a policeman, who was injured during a gun attack in Reading, St James, has died.
Police have confirmed that young Zamir Morgan succumbed to injuries he sustained during Saturday night’s ambush, which also claimed the life of his mother, Latoya Stephenson.
Reports indicate that Stephenson, Morgan, and the boy’s father were travelling along Reading’s main road when armed men opened fire on their vehicle.
Stephenson was shot multiple times in the upper body and was pronounced dead at hospital shortly after the incident.
Morgan, who suffered a gunshot wound to the head, underwent surgery but died on Sunday night.
His father, who was shot in the back during the attack, remains in hospital receiving treatment.
