Five men were shot and killed during what police are describing as a confrontation in Jack’s Hill, St Andrew, on Monday.
According to reports from the Counter-Terrorism and Organized Crime (CTOC) Investigation Branch, law enforcement officers acted on intelligence suggesting that armed men were gathered at a specific location within the community.
Upon arriving at the scene, the police say they were met with gunfire and were forced to return fire. The exchange resulted in the deaths of five men. Their identities have not yet been released.
During the operation, four illegal firearms were recovered from the scene, according to the police.
Investigations are ongoing.
