With just few days to go before his birthday, two-year-old Adrian Campbell was shot and killed on his way to get ice cream with his family in Mack Hill, Trelawny on Sunday night.
The Trelawny police have since confirmed that they have taken one man into custody in connection with the killing.
It is reported that about 7:30 p.m., the infant, his mother and her boyfriend went to purchase ice cream at a shop in Mack Hill when they were approached by a man with whom the mother had a dispute with.
The man brandished a handgun and open fire hitting young Adrian who was sitting in the rear seat of the car.
The shooter then fled the scene on foot, while the wounded child was rushed to the Falmouth Hospital were he was pronounced dead.
The shooter was picked up by the police During an operation carried out in Duncans, Trelawny later in the night.
He has been identified as 20-year old Anthony Findley otherwise called “Boy Blue”, “Buddy Man” and “CJ”.
